Kara Schab of Right Foot Creative is slayer of flatlays, content queen & all around freaking cool. She's rounded up for us what's on her list of places to go and things to do in the DC area this month. Check it out here - you'll cry if you don't.

WHERE TO GO WHEN YOU NEED SOME #JUNGALOW INSPO AND TO GSD...

The Wydown at The Apollo

It's 9 a.m. on Monday morning.  You are tired, uninspired and in desperate need of a coffee. My go-to? The Wydown at The Apollo.

Grab a coffee from The Wydown and walk into an Instagrammable heaven that was designed with the help of the ladies from Salt & Sundry. An environment that encourages you to work hard while being cozy AF. All about that #balance.

While the decor and design elements are inspiring enough, I also love the atmosphere that is provided by all of the other creators, students, designers, loungers, and other humans you'll see working there. I have met a few people just from the raw connectivity of human interaction on an early morning, admiring each other's work (so weird I would talk to strangers, right?!).

The rooftop is stunning too. I did a photo shoot there last year, and from the pictures you would have never known that this little slice of boho heaven was located quietly on H Street, NE. Take a look at those stunners here

WHERE YOU SHOULD GO IF YOU WANT TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE (SUSTAINABLY)...

Varnish Lane

Founded by the sweetest mother-daughter duo, Lauren and Carrie, who were on a quest to find a nail salon that was clean, safe and convenient.

Varnish Lane offers waterless nailcare to its customers which reduces waste, cost, and is much healthier for the customer. All of the products that are used during the manicure / pedicure services are natural and have amazing benefits for your skin. The nail polish they carry is also natural, meaning that there are no toxins being absorbed by your nailbeds or cuticles.

Have your Insta ready because the interiors are extremely beautiful. The ambiance makes for such an incredibly relaxing experience, as though you are at home. Lauren recently told me that yes, they often do have to wake up their snoozing guests who quite literally felt at home.

Varnish Lane is currently located at 5236 44th St. NW Washington, DC 20015, with a new location coming to West End, DC soon!

WHERE YOU SHOULD GO IF YOU WANT TO JOIN A GYM...FOR YOUR SKIN...

Blush Med Spa

Yup, you read that right. A legit gym for your skin. I stumbled upon this beautiful little spa when venturing around Shaw one day. Founded by Doctor Arleen Lamba to give us all affordable, accessible and approachable skin services, this place is a dream. I, amongst many, always thought that a facial or any sort of skin treatment meant that I would be spending a biiig chunk of cash that I more than likely did not have. Blush has made this affordable for all of us who are focusing on self-care this year. They have memberships started at just $69/month, which you are most likely spending on just one product alone, so why not get a monthly facial instead? Plus, it is woman-owned, ran and encourages both men and women to #treatyoself.

They also have a ton of organic, vegan and consumer conscious products you can purchase as well. Including a brand called Bitch Stix, where the proceeds benefit survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
